Do your feet feel heavy and achy at the end of the day? Acupressure using the pressure from just your fingertips on acupuncture points can help alleviate pain and recalibrate your feet.
Here are five powerful points to restore comfort and vitality:

1. Yongquan (KID-1) – “Gushing Spring”
Located on the sole of the foot, in the depression just below the ball of the foot in the center. Pressing this point helps draw energy downward, calm the mind, and relieve fatigue and overheating. Use your thumbs or a knuckle to apply firm but gentle pressure for 30 seconds at a time. Breathe slowly as you press.
2. Taixi (KID-3) – “Great Stream”
Behind the inner ankle bone (malleolus), in the soft space between the bone and Achilles tendon. This point supports Kidney energy and relieves ankle pain, weakness, and swelling. Apply pressure with your thumb while circling your ankle slowly to loosen the area.
3. Zusanli (ST-36) – “Leg Three Miles”
This point is found four finger-widths below the kneecap, about one finger-width to the outside of the shin bone. Although not on the foot, this point improves energy, supports digestion, and reduces leg fatigue. Try pressing both sides while seated and take deep belly breaths.
4. Sanyinjiao (SP-6) – “Three Yin Intersection”
You can find this point bout three finger-widths above the inner ankle (malleolus), on the inner side of the leg. This point balances the lower body and strengthens the Spleen, Liver, and Kidney channels. Great for women’s health and general fatigue. Massage both legs in gentle circular motions.
5. Taichong (LV-3) – “Great Rushing”
This point is located on the dorsum (top) of the foot, in the depression located between the first and second metatarsal bones of the toes, a few finger widths below the webbing of the toes. Taichong is considered a key point for balancing and regulating Qi flow throughout the body. It’s known to help alleviate foot pain, stiffness, and inflammation. Massage simultaneously with deep breaths.
