In 2013, I had foot surgery that resulted in several screws being left in my foot to hold the bones together while they fused. The swelling was extreme, uncomfortable, and prolonged. In February 2015, the surgeon removed those screws. This time, I made appointments to see Erin Pass the day after the surgery and the day after that.They did not put needles anywhere near the surgical site so there was no chance of infection.
During the first acupuncture treatment, I could actually feel the stitches loosening as the swelling went down. By the end of the second treatment, the swelling was almost completely gone. Of course I still followed the surgeon’s directions to keep my foot elevated for a couple of weeks, but the acupuncture treatments made an amazing difference in the comfort and speed of my recovery.
